She made it a week...

WARNING: The following pictures are gross...!

Cait has not felt well the last few days. We went to College Station to a friends wedding on Saturday and she had been warm all day. We just attributed it to the weather but on our way home we noticed she had a definite fever. We gave her some Tylenol before bed and she slept fine. When I woke her up her left eye was matted shut. I thought maybe pink eye or allergies. Sean and I decided I would call her doctor for an appt this morning since she would need a note to go to daycare if she has anything abnormal going on. Dr. Orr confirmed she has a cold with pink eye! He called her the happiest sick baby of the day this morning... that didn't last long! She did not sleep last night very well, poor baby! (and poor Mommy! Dad was at work).

She has finally decided to take a nap and we'll wake her up in a bit to give her the second dose of the eye drops prescribed to her. The pictures below are how I found her this morning when I woke her up to get ready to go see the doctor. They are pretty gross, hence the warning!!

I'm sure she'll feel better soon! Just keep her in your thoughts and prayers because she goes back to daycare on Wednesday and we can't afford me to quit my job!

Cait's dog...

So I am led to believe that Aspen is now Cait's dog. About two weeks ago, we had Cait sitting in her bumbo chair and Aspen laid down beside her and the next thing I know Cait is petting Aspen, very gently moving her hand back and forth across her fur on her back. Well Cait has wanted to pet her a few more times and I have had to correct Aspen once or twice about growling at Cait (and when she growls it's very low rumbles and she has never followed through, so don't worry about any dog attacks... Aspen knows better). So tonight, Cait's sitting on the floor and Aspen comes and lays down at her feet. The pictures to follow show their interaction!

This is where Aspen decided to lay down while Cait was on the floor...

This is where Cait "smacked" Aspen on the bridge of her nose and Aspen just laid there....

This is where Aspen got tired of lying on her side and decided her back would be much better, I guess trying to get Cait to rub her belly... she likes that a lot too...

And this is where Cait and Aspen met forehead to nose and just kinda sat there for a minute.
Then shortly after that Aspen had enough of the playtime inside and decided she needed to commune with nature. I definitely praised her a lot for being so good with Cait, whom I guess she has decided is her baby! Aspen has always, from the day we brought Cait home, been very protective of her. She even "cries" when Cait cries because it bothers her that she's unhappy! It's pretty amazing actually!

School Days

Yesterday was Caitlin's first day of "school" (a.k.a. daycare but I think it sounds better calling it school!). Sean dropped her off on his way to class and picked her up around 3. She was there for about 7 hours and the teachers said she did very well. She only slept a total of 25 minutes, taking two tries to nap but since she's used to napping in her bed at home in the dark with the door closed, we didn't expect her to sleep too much. She was very tired when she came home yesterday and today. Her normal time to go to bed when she stays home is 8ish, she was sacked out by 7 yesterday and again tonight! More time for me to get stuff done around the house but less time I get to see my little girl on days I work. It'll all get sorted out and at least she's only there part time!

I'll scan her first day sheet they sent home when I get a chance!

Home Made

This is the finished project! Finally! Laurie and I worked on this off and on when we had time to get together and until Cait got too tired and we had to leave. But, here it is... I think it turned out very cute. Especially since I'm not a sewer, I think I did ok! She didn't seem to mind it and I think it fits pretty well too!

A Few Pictures

Gillian and Michelle headed for home on Tuesday, the 7th. We were sad to see them go. It was so nice having them here and getting to spend time with my Niece and sister! We love you both! But, they had to go home to Ben who hadn't seen them in almost 6 weeks! Yikes... here are some pictures from the last day they were here!

First 4th of July

Here are some photos from our big 4th of July bash at the house!! And by big bash, I mean Sean barbequed hot dogs and hamburgers, Michelle and I made potato salad and fresh green beans *which were fabulous* had watermelon and homemade pickles and mmm mmm it was tasty!

Aren't they just the cutest things you've ever seen!

First taste of watermelon. She ate it up. Gillian like it a lot too, guess we didn't get a picture. I'll have to get one from Michelle to put up here!

To the zoo we go...again!

Michelle and Gillian were back for another visit 4th of July weekend so we decided to go to the Zoo on Friday. Sean, Michelle, Me, Cait and Gillian packed in the car and spent a couple hours looking at the animals. Fortunately, Cait and Gillian stayed awake for most of the trip! We made sure to get there early so it wouldn't be too hot! Here are some of the highlights of our day!

They both sacked out about mid way through but hey, I call it a success because they were awake for longer than either had at a zoo before!
