All Together at Last!

For the first time ever, and it only took 9 months, the cousins were all together! Michelle, Gillian, Colin and my dad drove from Kansas to see us for a few days this past weekend. We took the oportunity to take some pictures of them together! Thanks Mandy for coming in to visit and for taking these wonderful pictures of our gorgeous kiddos!

9 Month Well Check

We had Emily's 9 month check-up today and she is a very healthy little girl! She is 21 lbs 13 oz (90%), 27" long (25%), and 17.5" (75%) head circumference! She had to have a finger stick to check for anemia today too, poor thing!

In other news, I noticed at the doctors office that she has finally gotten her first tooth! And the second one is not too far behind! I'm so excited for her but sad in a way too...I'm going to miss that huge gum-y smile of hers but I know that her huge tooth-y smile will be just as adorable!

Emily is 9 Months Old!

Emily turned 9 months old yesterday! She is such an amazing, happy baby! She started crawling about two weeks ago and is getting better every day. She started with the commando drag-your-whole-body crawl but is now on hands and knees and on the move. She still doesn't have any teeth but that doesn't stop her from eating more solid foods. I cut up some steamed green beans last night and she ate them up! She actually started pulling herself up before she was crawling and that seems to be her favorite thing to do right now! She is becoming a lot more aware of toys now too! She and big sister are learning how to share! Big sister is doing very well so far! Emily adores Caitlin and Caitlin adores Emily! I love watching them together! We will go next week for Emily's well check so I'll post stats when I know them!

Caitlin Rides

Caitlin loves to ride her bike and she is getting much better! She will actually pedal by her self now, which is very nice! Hopefully we will be able to get her out on it more before it gets too hot!

The Bluebonnets Make Me Happy!

We've had a good bit of rain over the past month and this has made the wildflowers grow everywhere this year! I've seen a lot of beautiful pictures from friends and last weekend we got to get the girls out to take our own! Here are a few of them to enjoy!!

Dear Caitlin

Dear Caitlin,

I just wanted to write you a little note to tell you how much I love you! You are such a wonderful little girl and I am the luckiest mommy in the world because of you, and Emily!  You are a very active 3 year old. You love to swing, slide, color, paint, and play with your sister. Your best friend is Sarah Lewis. The two of you are almost inseparable at school. The first week you two were in Miss Brandi's preschool class she had to move one of you during "lesson" because all you girls would do is play! Landon and Azeil are also your friends.

You are learning to be your own person. In doing that, you are testing me at every turn! I try really hard to not fault you for yelling or throwing fits at me but sometimes you must go to time out or be sent to your room because you just don't seem to want to stop! I love that you are growing up and learning how to be more independent! I am proud of the person you are!

You only want to make "silly" faces when I take your picture! Your favorite shows right now are Word World, Dora, Little Einsteins, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (aka Toodles). You are great with your sister and Emily adores you! You like to climb into her crib and play with her when she's waking up! She just laughs and smiles up at you. You are learning how to share too. So far so good!

I just wanted to let you know that you are an amazing little girl and I can't believe how lucky I am to get to share your life with you! God truely blessed me with you!

Eight Months Old!

Today Emily Claire turned EIGHT months old! Can you believe it? I'm not sure where the time has gone! She is a very happy little girl. She loves to smile and giggle a lot! She is eating most solid foods now, we are making most of her fruits and veggies. We buy the Gerber meats that are mixed with a fruit or veggie because they are less revolting! We are giving her the Gerber graduate melt in your mouth foods to try now too. She doesn't really know what to do with them so unless we put them in her mouth they end up on the floor! We also give her a sippy cup to try and she's not so sure about that either!

As you can see she is trying to get moving! She is getting very good at scooting herself around on the floor on her belly...both forward, backward and in circles! She will get up on her hands and knees and sometimes her hands and a foot and a knee but has yet to actually crawl for any true distance! BUT, it won't be long now!

We are also expecting a tooth to appear at any moment...still waiting...

All it is doing is causing her some minor discomfort and causing her to chew on EVERYTHING! One of these days those cute gummy smiles won't be anymore so I'm taking them all in right now!!
