Cait's First Lent

Ok, so for whatever reason the pictures I upload always show up in the reverse order and I'm not sure how, or if you can, change it so here we go backwards! The first picture is Cait happy and getting ready for her before bed meal! The two pictures below are of Caitlin once we got home from Ash Wednesday mass. She got her first ashes! Oh and what did Cait give up for Lent? She gave up crying during church, at least for Ash Wednesday, we'll have to see how sunday goes! But we made it through our first mass in the church and not in the cryroom which thank goodness because the cryroom was stuffed and I didn't want to be in there anyway. I'm so proud of her for making it through. She did make a few noises and did get kind of fussy towards the end but I shoved a bottle in her mouth and she was happy again! She's a bit of a grazer these days and only eats 4-5 oz at once a couple times a day, the other times she'll eat 1-2 out of a bottle or nurse for maybe 10-15 minutes! I guess she's doing alright, she doesn't seem to be starving or losing weight so we'll keep on keepin' on!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just a few pictures to show off Caitlin on her first Valentine's Day! She was the perfect Valentine, watching t.v. with me all night. Sean had to work...we'll have Valentine's some other time and if not, oh well...I'm not a huge Val Day fan anyway! Hope everyone had a great day!

Two months already...

Hey everyone, sorry it's taken me so long to post her 2 month stats. She is a little chunky monkey these days! We had her two month well child check up on Monday shots included...yuck! She weighed 10lbs 11oz and was 21 1/4" long. Dr. Orr said she looks great and was very happy with her progress! I was shocked and amazed she weighed 10, almost 11 pounds. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I don't think I would have believed it!

So like I said before, she got shots at this visit! She did very well actually and so did Mom and Dad. She was given a live Rotavirus oral vaccine, hepatitis B, prevnar (for pneumonia), and pentacel (DTaP, IPV, and HIB all in one). She was very consolable afterwards thank goodness!

She was also very tired afterwards and pretty much slept all day! Which means...she didn't sleep at all that night! Yay, us! So Sean kept her awake as much as possible on tuesday but she still didn't sleep much tuesday night or wednesday night so I called the doctor on thursday just to see if she was reacting to the shots, the oral, or if she caught something. They think she just caught a bug and told us to have her sleep with her head elevated so thursday night she slept in her carseat and she slept SO well! I actually had to wake her up in the middle of the night to feed her. And she passed out again tonight and has been sleeping for a couple hours now so I hope she sleeps a couple more and we have a good night tonight like last night! She seems to be feeling a little better too which makes us very happy!

Progress...?

Weeeeeee....Look at me I'm working so hard!! Look at all of my hair too, it's getting longer and longer!

So I would probably be totally reemed by a lot of mothers and those people who write the "you should do this with your baby" people but I let Caitlin sleep on her tummy the other night and she slept wonderfully. I stayed in her room for a few minutes watching her move her head around and as you can see in the pictures, she is lifting her head just fine. She moved from one side to the other a couple times and I felt ok leaving her. I did wake up every two or so hours and went to check on her with a flashlight because she
wasn't making any sounds which is not normal when she sleeps on her back. It was absolutely
amazing! I'm guessing she gets the tummy sleeping thing from Sean and me, we both tend to sleep on our stomaches!

This is one of the new toys we've got out for her to play with. Batteries were NOT included so we've got to go get some C batteries for it, but it does a good job for a few mintues right now! Can't wait till it lights up and sings to her, we'll see how long she can lay there then!

She goes for her two month visit on Monday, updates coming!

New Family Member

Look at that little "bunny" nose! Isn't she cute!!

Daddy's little girl!

We are so happy to announce my sister, Michelle and her husband, Ben welcomed their new baby girl into the world on Monday, February 2nd. Her name is Gillian Marie and she weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 19 inches long. Michelle and Gillian are both doing well. They had quite an experience together. Michelle tried for 4 hours to get Gillian out and found out she was face up like Caitlin was (what's with these girls?) so they prepped her for surgery and C-sected. I will try to upload some of the pictures that Ben has posted so you all can see our new Niece and Caitlin's first cousin!

We are super excited for them! Michelle says Gillian is a pretty laid back baby which is great for her! We love her so much already and can't wait to meet her. I've even thought about trying to get a plane ticket for a weekend to go see her...we'll see what happens!

More Pictures

It's sleepy time for Cait!!

She's just so darned cute!

You have to look really close but there's a mohawk going on with her hair in this picture!

We're wearing our matching Aggie beanies!

Peek-a-boo!!

It's been a while...

So as you all know I've been busy thus no update on the blog for a while. Well, Sean has the night off so I decided that I'd write a little something since we're both home and he can get Cait if she is to wake up while typing! By the way, this was the picture I took of her just a few minutes ago...she didn't take long to pass out after this!

Ahh, yes, the wonderful face of Caitlin we see so often! She's even cute when she's mad! A couple updates for you...
Just as soon as I typed that she was fitting comfortably in her newborn clothes she decided to try one of these growth-spirts. She did amazingly well. I am nursing her and we had been supplementing once, maybe twice a day with formula before I went back to work so I could pump and Sean would have milk for
when I went back to work. Well just as I started back to work she decides that she is the most starving kid on the face of the Earth! Litterally! It took us a bit but we finally got to the store to get rice cereal to put a little in her bottle so she could get something substancial in her tummy. After about a week she actually slept for more than two hours during the night, she slept four hours in a row! Thus making the happy baby as you see here. This is the closest I've gotten to get a picture of her smile! She is holding them longer now but I'm slow to get the camera and then it's slow turning on and actually taking the picture. Maybe I'll get a faster camera one day!

This was just an adorable picture of Sean and Cait sleeping on the couch. Sorry it's so dark but I took it without them knowing!!

Anyway, back to the growth-spirt. She was fitting well in the newborn size for about 2 weeks and she's up to the 0-3 month size now. Some newborn things still fit, depends on the maker, but she's growing into the 0-3's fast. I think she'll be in them for a bit longer, they're still a little big on her!

Ooohh! I'm wide awake here! This was just a cute picture!
So, Caitlin has her two week appointment on Feb. 10th. We'll find out how much she weighs, how long she is, and she also gets the first round of well baby shots! Her doctor uses a vaccine with multiple vaccines in it so this drastically cuts down on the number of times she'll get stuck. I think there's three in one (Hep B, IPV, DTaP) and then she should only get one more injection. And maybe by then she'll have a cousin! Michelle and I are anxious to see who is going to outweigh the other, Gillian or Caitlin! We'll just have to wait and see!
